Behavioral Services

Behavioral Services at ASAP provide structured, person‑centered support to help individuals and their support networks manage behaviors, reduce barriers, and increase opportunities for learning, independence, and social connection.

Our Philosophy
We believe behavior is communication: behind every action lies meaning, intent, or an unmet need. Our role is to uncover that meaning, teach replacement skills, and shape environments so individuals can thrive with dignity.

Core Services
  • Behavioral assessments & consultation: Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and ongoing consultation with staff, caregivers, and participants.
  • Skill teaching & replacement behavior strategies: Alternative skills, self‑regulation tools, and adaptive responses aligned with goals and preferences.
  • Crisis and responsive support: De‑escalation coaching and post‑incident review to adjust plans.
  • Training & coaching for support teams: Positive behavior supports, trauma‑informed practice, and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Data‑driven monitoring & adaptation: Track progress with data, review outcomes, and adapt interventions based on effectiveness.

Who We Serve
Behavioral Services are available to participants across ASAP’s programs or via external referral — particularly for individuals who require support in managing behaviors that impede participation, safety, or learning.

\Why ASAP’s Behavioral Services
  • Emphasis on least intrusive, most effective supports.
  • Interventions grounded in evidence and best practices.
  • Focus on building skills rather than only managing behavior.
  • Collaboration with families, clinicians, and support teams.
  • Safety, dignity, and choice are central in all work.
